The National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL) harvests innovative technology from the commercial and non-defense marketplace, ensuring the development of better defense capabilities. We offer a unique and simplified approach to rapidly develop, demonstrate, and assess prototypes that address a range of operational and installation needs, from individual Warfighter technology up to large-scale installation projects. NSTXL delivers technology to the Warfighter by serving as a one-stop shop to match government requirements with innovative private-sector and academic solutions.


Currently, our OTAs have more than 800 corporate, non-profit, educational, and financial institution members. For these members, NSTXL offers opportunities to bid on government contracts, education and training, and live/virtual forums covering a wide variety of topics.


Job Description

The Brand and Communications Specialist will develop a complete content strategy with a focus on proactive storytelling and growth marketing. We are looking for a creative marketer with a passion for digging deep to create unique storytelling opportunities that provide the "why should people care" narrative.

The Brand and Communications Specialist will lead the content creation and campaign development (website, content syndication, video, social, events, and audio) of the NSTXL brand and all co-owned brands. In this role, they will work collaboratively across the organization to develop compelling content strategies owning content creation, editing, approvals, and distribution.


Responsibilities


Brand & Content

  • Translate brand strategy, positioning, and visual identity into integrated marketing plans and consumer experiences.
  • Manage content and engagement programs from ideation, conception, creation, execution, and reporting across a range of channels and mediums, including but not limited to press, blogs, events, webinars, digital content, video, web, SEO, and paid advertising
  • Work cross-functionally to strategize and create conversion-focused content and campaigns to support organization KPI’s
  • Collaborate with membership manager and digital marketing manager to develop engaging, branded experiences ensuring everything remains consistent with brand standards and supports KPI’s
  • Analyze content performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize content for maximum impact, regularly updating all content to ensure each effort maximizes its potential impact
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our content marketing efforts
  • Leverage and distill data from across the organization to develop meaningful engagement programs (i.e., social listening, consumer insights, PR, etc)
  • Oversee content production, ensuring all content is high-quality, relevant, and engaging
  • Ensure all content across the organization stays true to the tone, guidelines, and restrictions of our brand

Press & Communication

  • Establish PR cadence to elevate brand awareness, gaining credible authentic coverage that introduces new consumers to NSTXL while maintaining and growing our brand with our existing consumer base
  • Manage consumer and trade-related media requests and arrange interviews with appropriate company spokesperson(s) on behalf of the NSTXL brand
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including journalists, media outlets, and other stakeholders, to maximize our reach and impact
  • Work with HR, Operations, Program Marketing, and Membership on communications strategies for launches, announcements, and changes

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience creating content and leading content strategy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to both create content and build a comprehensive content strategy
  • Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills to successfully coordinate multiple programs and adapt to unexpected requests
  • Team player with a passion for creating moving, story-driven content that converts
  • Understanding of new media, traditional media, and emerging media with experience working across multiple mediums and channels
  • Enthusiasm for our mission and vision
  • Knowledge of marketing automation, CRM, and CMS, such as HubSpot or Sprout
  • Understanding of social media platforms from a creative and operational perspective
  • Experience with Canva or similar design programs, Adobe Design experience a plus
  • Deep understanding of SEO and how to optimize digital content

Travel:

  • Travel for this position is estimated at 15%
