Director, Space Enterprise Consortium (SpEC) - CO

Job description

The National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL), a fast-growing acquisition services provider, is seeking an enthusiastic self-starter to direct and lead the Space Enterprise Consortium, SpEC, Other Transaction Authority (OTA) program. NSTXL is the manager for SpEC which aims to bridge the gap between military buyers and the commercial space sector. SpEC’s goal is to identify solutions quickly and effectively for the U.S. space mission by fostering collaboration among military, commercial, and academic innovators. The Director is responsible for the overall effective operation of the program. He/she will work directly with our government customers and collaborate with NSTXL staff to launch new prototype acquisition efforts, manage ongoing projects, and identify new prototype candidates for the vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, directing, and timely execution of the program
  • Support, advise and assist the government customer, SMC, to execute an effective OTA program
  • Identify and secure new prototypes to the SpEC OTA via outreach and one-on-one meetings with government offices
  • Organize and oversee acquisition projects to bring the full suite of NSTXL services to bear for our clients
  • Represent SpEC at commercial and government conferences
  • Prepare SpEC reports, briefings, and after-action reports
  • Manage dedicated SpEC support team
  • Maintain accurate records on all activities related to the SpEC program
  • Suggest new offerings, services, and value-added enhancements to the SpEC program
  • Work with our government clients and commercial/academia innovators to ensure successful prototype completion in conjunction with other NSTXL staff
  • Actively and consistently engage with key stakeholders to maximize industry participation within the SpEC community (private sector, academia, and government)
  • Create curated outreach plan that continuously identifies innovators and activities aligned to the SpEC scope

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in software, engineering, business, or related field
  • 10+ years of successful experience in the commercial space industry
  • 5+ years’ experience in space start-up or entrepreneurial setting
  • Experience engaging with U.S. Military stakeholders at GO/SES level
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Travel: The expected travel for this position is 30% with key destinations to include, Washington, DC, Huntsville, AL, and Los Angeles, CA

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong relationships and familiarity with Space Force, SMC program, and other relevant DoD stakeholders
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to qualify for Top Secret clearance
