NSTXL delivers technology to the Warfighter by serving as a one-stop shop to match government requirements with innovative private-sector and academic solutions.


Each of our OTAs is a distinct member-based not-for-profit with its own membership that is managed and serviced by NSTXL. Currently, our OTAs have more than 800 corporate, non-profit, educational, and financial institution members. For these members, NSTXL offers opportunities to bid on government contracts, education and training, and live/virtual forums on a wide variety of topics.


Job Description

The National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL), a fast-growing innovative acquisition services company, is seeking a Corporate Controller to supervise all accounting and financial functions. The right candidate will oversee our accounting staff and functions, including the financial books, audit, and financial analysis as well as help guide the selection of financial tools and software. The financial controller will ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations and produce financial reports for the firm’s leadership and Board.


Responsibility

  • Managing all bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing functions
  • Lead the monthly closing of the financial books
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly financial reports for the Board
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process
  • Collaborate with department heads to create accurate budget forecasts
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted figures and provide variance analysis
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and overall financial improvement
  • Prepare financial models for scenario analysis, investment decisions and strategic planning
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Facilitating annual third-party GAAP audits
  • Managing all AP/AR invoicing functions including Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) and other Government systems
  • Recommend and implement accounting and financial systems/software as needed


Location: Remote in these states - AL, DC, FL, IN, NC, OH, TX, VA

Job requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in financial management
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP, IFRS)
  • Experience in preparing financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Proficiency in financial analysis techniques, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and ratio analysis
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and motivating finance teams
  • Proven track record in developing and managing budgets and forecasts
  • Experience collaborating with departments to create accurate financial projections
  • Proficiency in using financial software and ERP systems
  • Experience implementing process improvements and leveraging technology for efficiency
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective internal control processes
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and experience working with auditors
  • Experience coordinating external audits and collaborating with auditors
  • BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Familiarity with Government accounting system (e.g., Wide Area Workflow) and accounting rules (e.g., Cost Accounting Standards)
