Product Manager, Acquisition Tools

Job description

The National Security Technology Accelerator, NSTXL, is seeking a Product Manager of Acquisition Tools to perform as our lead manager charged with the design, development, and deployment of a software platform tailored for defense acquisition activities. The PM will report to NSTXL’s Vice President of Acquisition Products and Services and will supervise a team of supporting technical staff. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) data processes and possess direct experience with constructing software stacks or applications in a commercial environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identification and/or design of secure software platforms stacked to support all stages of a product’s life cycle with an ability to quickly model data for commercial and Government clients
  • Define product strategy and associated roadmaps
  • Conduct research and develop an understanding of the customer's needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors
  • Manage & execute on-time development and release schedules
  • Forecast costs and complete activities within approved budget
  • Create associated reference material, such as How-To Guides
  • Interact with DoD clients and collect user feedback through customized assessments or surveys
  • Regularly communicate system capabilities to current & prospective users
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and opportunities
  • Run beta/pilot programs


Travel: 15% (Contingent upon COVID protocols and/or other restrictions)

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Product Management, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • Possession of, or an ability to receive, SECRET-level clearance within 90 days of hire date
  • A strong understanding of DoD enterprise architecture, applications, security requirements and business systems
  • Clear understanding of data analytics, to include subsequent reporting & application
  • Experience with design/development of custom databases and/or modeling software
  • Demonstrable fluency in commercially available technologies that support multi-faceted data collection and representation
  • Exemplary customer service and communication techniques
  • 3+ years of experience working with low-code/no-code software applications
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing, designing, testing, and integrating software products
  • Supervisory experience overseeing technical staff
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software, to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
