The National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL) harvests innovative technology from the commercial and non-defense marketplace, ensuring the development of better defense capabilities. We offer a unique and simplified approach to rapidly develop, demonstrate, and assess prototypes that address a range of operational and installation needs, from individual Warfighter technology up to large-scale installation projects. NSTXL delivers technology to the Warfighter by serving as a one-stop shop to match government requirements with innovative private-sector and academic solutions.


Currently, our OTAs have more than 800 corporate, non-profit, educational, and financial institution members. For these members, NSTXL offers opportunities to bid on government contracts, education and training, and live/virtual forums covering a wide variety of topics.


Job Description
The National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL), a fast-growing acquisition services provider to the U.S. government, is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and proven Vice President for Business Development. He/she will work directly with our Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships to help execute the NSTXL business development strategy, create and maintain a strong network of relationships aligned to business development and Other Transaction (OT) goals, as well as research and identify new potential federal government customers aligned to the NSTXL OT vehicle suite.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships aligned to NSTXL’s business strategy
  • Increase opportunities for the NSTXL OT vehicles
  • Support the attraction, recruitment and sustainment of anchor clients that align to the OT critical technology areas and NSTXL strategy
  • Assist with researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives and associated government customers for those target markets
  • Assist with the research, planning and implementing of new OTA opportunities for NSTXL
  • Assist with creating bespoke collaboration opportunities between DoD anchor clients, prospective DoD clients and NSTXL OT’s

Location: Remote: in these States - AL, DC, IN, FL, OH, TX, VA

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 10 years’ experience in DoD business development
  • Existing relationships in DoD RDT&E Program Offices
  • Knowledge of DoD Budget and Appropriations processes
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and public speaking skills
  • Time management skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Ability to secure a Top-Secret Security clearance

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • TS-SCI Clearance
  • Strong relationships and familiarity with DoD and other relevant DoD stakeholders
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
  • A Passion for changing the way the DoD solves problems
  • A strong understanding of current DoD innovation efforts and organizations

Travel:

  • 60% domestic travel
